Norwegian Church Aid (NCA)

Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) established its presence in Tanzania in 2006 and has a long history of working together with local faith-based actors to help people climb out of poverty and promote justice. Throughout its presence, NCA has nurtured an interfaith civil society movement, working for peace and social cohesion, accountable governance, economic justice and gender equality. For NCA, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue and cooperation is a key approach to strengthening the role of civil society and promoting sustainable development results in the country.

Legal and Human Rights Center

Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) is the Tanzania’s human rights advocacy organization. LHRC was established in 1995 as a non-governmental, voluntary, non-partisan and not-for-profit sharing organization, with the purpose of working to empower and conscientize the people of Tanzania on legal and human rights. Before its registration, in September 1995, LHRC was a human rights project of the Tanzania Legal Education Trust (TANLET). Its main purpose is to strive to empower the public, promote, reinforce and safeguard human rights and good governance in Tanzania.

Lawyers’ Environmental Action Team (LEAT)

Lawyers’ Environmental Action Team (LEAT) is a non-governmental and not for profit-making environmental management and protection organization in Tanzania. LEAT specializes in research activities in natural resources management and governance particularly in land, mining, wildlife, water resources and forests. Moreover, it engages in advocating for legal amendments and policy reforms in environmental protection and natural resources management.

Care International

CARE began working in Tanzania in April 1994, in response to the crisis in Rwanda and the subsequent influx of refugees into the Kagera Region of North-western Tanzania. Over the ensuing years, CARE Tanzania developed innovative education, health, microfinance, and environmental programs across most regions of the country.

Interventions:

CARE Tanzania focuses to address the needs of three impact groups:

a. Poor and vulnerable people, especially women and girls, dependent on natural resources in areas with severe environmental restrictions

HakiElimu

HakiElimu (Swahili, meaning ‘Right to Education’) is a registered Non Governmental Organization/Civil Society Organization in Tanzania which was established in 2001 by 13 Tanzanian Founding Members. Our history is rooted in the ambition of those founder members – that citizens, if actively involved in education governance, can make a difference in the education sector.

Agricultural Non-State Actor Forum (ANSAF)

We are a non-partisan, non-governmental organization registered under the Tanzanian NGO Act of 2002. Our actions are accountable to our members as outlined in our Constitution and Code of Conduct. Our focus on transparency and equality make us the preferred forum within the agriculture sector.
