PMO-RALG to consult with CSOs on 2009 Local Government Elections


As the ministry supervising Local Government elections, the Prime Minister's Office - Regional Authorities and Local Government (PMO-RALG) has invited 9 Civil Society Organisations to a meeting to be held in Dodoma on the 10 October 2008 to solicit inputs from them regarding elections to be held in October 2009. A similar meeting was held with political parties on the 16th-17th of September 2008.

Wildlife for all Tanzanians


The TNRF Secretariat has developed an information pack on the Wildlife Sector as a resource for policy makers and the general public wanting access to independent informationon on the topic. These briefs provide information, data, and analysis about the trends of Tanzania’s wildlife populations, causes of those trends, and various links between national economic growth, poverty reduction, and wildlife management. The aim is for the information in these briefs to encourage more informed public debate about the policies and practices governing wildlife management in Tanzania.

Policy Forum Position Paper on the Constituency Development Fund


On 22 July 2008, Policy Forum was invited to send members to meet with a subcommittee of the Parliamentary House Business Committee to express its views regarding a Constituency Development Fund likely to be legislated by Parliament during 2008. This meeting was called immediately following a one-week study tour undertaken by Policy Forum Members from 12 to 20 July 2008 to Mombasa, Kenya to observe how the CDF is implemented and monitored in Bahari Constituency, Kilifi, Mombasa.
