Arusha Alternative Mining Indaba

Policy Forum, in collaboration with the Interfaith Standing Committee on Economic Justice and Integrity of Creation, is organising the Tanzania Alternative Mining conference in Arusha from the 18th to 21st of October, 2011 under the Theme The state of Mining in Tanzania.

This conference will be held concurrently with the Ministry of Energy & Minerals' conference and which is being organised in partnership with AME Trade Limited in Arusha on the 19th - 20th October 2011.

Annual PETS conference aimed at taking stock of and evaluating PETS in Tanzania; sharing experiences on challenges and achievements; creating a national PETS strategy ensuring widest coverage across Tanzania; and embedding PETS in the Social Accountability Monitoring as a specific tool.

The PETS conference to be held in Dodoma from 28th-29th June 2010, is organized by Local Government Working Group (LGWG) of Policy Forum.

The Human Rights Conference is being organised to mark the International Human Rights Day. Planned activities will include peaceful demonstrations that will culminate at the Karimjee Hall, followed by traditional dances, a presentation of the human rights situation in Tanzania in 2009, a word from the Guest of Honour Hon. John Tendwa – Registrar of Political Parties and the launching of the 2009 Local Government Elections Monitoring Report. Particular focus will be given to the experiences of small farmers, pastoralist communities, and others that depend on natural resources for their livelihoods.
