Understanding Oil and Gas Sectors in Tanzania - Workshop for CSOs and media and Legislators

Policy Forum and Revenue Watch Institute are organising a third and final workshop as part of their capacity-building fellowhip program on Extractive Industry for Civil Society  and Media in Tanzania which is scheduled to be held in Dar es Salaam on the 1st to 3rd of June 2010. The aim of the workshop is to provide participants with the Knowledge about the current state of exploration of Oil and exploitation of Gas resources in Tanzania, the structure of the two sectors globally and in Tanzania, importance to the national economy and key issues related to maximizing its potential contribution to national development, with a focus on options for the use of these resources, regulation, state participation, revenue generation management and distribution, local content, and socio-environmental rights and obligations. Also, the workshop aims at providing them with skills to be able to engage and influence current and future policy, legislations and practices in the two sectors in Tanzania.
