CSO MKUKUTA review process technical team meeting 22nd May 2010 Dar es Salaam

CSOs coordinating civil society inputs in MKUKUTA II are holding a one day technical meeting on Saturday 22nd May 2010 in Dar es Salaam from 0900hrs – 1600hrs. The venue will be communicated soon.

The MKUKUTA review process is in the completion point of conducting consultations on the Zero draft MKUKUTA II. On the part of CSOs, consultations have been conducted at various levels including:

1. The CSO MKUKUTA review process consultations that involved regional consultations facilitated by Foundation for Civil Society followed by Zonal consultations coordinated through Policy Forum.

2. Thematic consultations which include different sectors and interest group such as (environment group, Disabled group, youth group, gender group, education group and animal welfare group)

These consultations will be followed by a national CSOs forum that will bring together all CSOs groups and thematic groups to draw up a common CSOs position/ proposals for the draft MKUKUTA II. This national forum is planned for 26 – 27 May 2010 in Dar es Salaam.

This first technical team meeting will work for one day to compile together a common draft outcome document that will be discussed and improved upon in the national CSOs forum that will follow. The main aim is to compile a well articulated draft CSO outcome document with prioritized and clearly justified proposals for MKUKUTA II of inputs from a broad CSOs base. The final adopted outcome document will then be submitted to the MKUKUTA Drafting team and discussed with them for inclusion in the final draft.
