Hearing about the Impact of Climate Change on Tanzanians
We are pleased to inform you that the Tanzania Civil Society Forum on Climate Change is organizing a: Hearing about the Impact of Climate Change on Tanzanians 2nd December 2009 10:30 – 13:30
Police Officers’ Mess, Oyster Bay Dar es Salaam
This important event, in the days leading up to UN FCCC COP 15, will be aimed at profiling and raising awareness on the human impact of climate change in Tanzania.
Particular focus will be given to the experiences of small farmers, pastoralist communities, and others that depend on natural resources for their livelihoods.
The event will include a series of short testimonials from climate change affected people, along with responses and reflections from a panel of select representatives from government, civil society, academia and others.
There will also be a series of cultural activities, and an opportunity for questions and feedback from the general audience.
Considering that many of you are interested in and working on climate change issues in Tanzania, we have the honor to invite one or two representatives from your organization to attend the Climate Hearing.
Individual TNRF members may also attend. Attached please find a preliminary programme for your information.
We expect organizations based in Dar es Salaam who wish to attend to be able to cover the cost of transportation.
