Annual National Policy Dialogue - 19th to 25th November 2009

The Government of Tanzania will conduct an Annual National Policy Dialogue event from the 19th - 25th of November, 2009 at the Bank of Tanzania Conference Centre. Unlike previous years, this event will combine the MKUKUTA Poverty Policy Week, Public Expenditure Review Annual Consultative meeting and the General Budget Support Annual Review. It has been agreed to combine dialogue on policy and budgetary / expenditure management, growth and poverty reduction issues so as to reduce overlaps and transaction costs associated with multiple processes.

The 2009 Annual National Policy Dialogue is the culmination of PER/MKUKUTA/GBS process dialogue carried out throughout the year at sector and cluster level. You will note from the attached programme that from the 19th - 20th November 2009 the discussion will focus on review of the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty (MKUKUTA) and PER. On resumption from a weekend break, the discussion will focus on the GBS from the 23rd - 25th of 2009. The GBS Annual Review will assess the Government and DPs performance against the agreed Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) matrix. The dialogue will involve high level Government official, heads of Missions and Heads of Development Cooperation and CSOs.
