Reforming the Tanzanian Mining Act – Fiscal, Social, Environmental Aspects Workshop for CSOs and media

Revenue Watch Institute (RWI), in collaboration with Policy Forum, is organising a course for CSOs and the media with the aim of providing knowledge about the structure of the mining sector, and key issues related to maximising its contribution to national development in Tanzania. With a focus on revenue generation, socio-environmental rights and obligations and local economic development, the course will also build participants' skills to engage in the mining sector and influence the new mining legislation.

The course is scheduled to begin on Monday the 12th to Wednesday 14th of October 2009 at Kunduchi Beach Hotel and anticipates around 30 civil society and media delegates.
