Constituency Development Fund in Tanzania: the Right Solution?

Policy Forum has produced an Analytical Think pieace on the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The CDF is an additional means of financing (sourced from domestic revenue) for community-driven development that is managed at the constituency level by Members of Parliament (‘MPs’). As such it supplements, or operates parallel to existing funding mechanisms for local government. This analytical think piece discusses whether or not Tanzania needs an additional development fund like the CDF. It also looks at the dynamics of the relationship between MPs and their constituents that the introduction of the fund would raise.
