TEN/MET exists to promote, enable and build capacity of its members to advocate and campaign for access to, equity in and quality of free basic education for all. It seeks to:

1. promote different perspectives

2. foster open, protracted public debates

3. develop alternative ways of doing things; and

4. to effectively participate in democratic institutions of the state.

It furthermore promotes information sharing among its members and with the public and stimulates a broader, more open public debate on education in order to influence policy and build public understanding and ownership.

TEN/MET members have been actively participating in the 7.30 Breakfast Debates being organized by Policy Forum in collaboration with HakiElimu. Some of the topics under discussion have been focusing on education issues.

In promoting public debates and citizensʼ engagement in issues and policies related to education, TEN/MET would therefore like to introduce national debates in every two months (February, April, June, August, October and December) meanwhile developing the capacity of its members at the zonal, regional and district levels. These sessions will involve both CSOs, Government Official, Development Partners, Private Sector, Media and all other stakeholders interested in education development.

TEN/MET would llike to invite you to the first National Education Forum for Public Debate scheduled on Tuesday, 26th February 2008, Dar es Salaam International appreciate Conference Centre, PPF Tower along Ohio and Garden Avenue.
