SHINYANGA FOUNDATION FUND-SFF
Shinyanga Foundation Fund (SFF) is the local NGO that working to capacitate the community to aware on their rights on social accountability, social security and poverty reduction.
SFF is registered in september 2nd,1999 with certificate number SO 10029 with ministry of Home affairs THEN were registered for certificate of compliance No 1500 of June 15,2005 from the vice president's office.
Shinyanga Foundation Fund (SFF) is a non governmental, charitable and not for profit organization established to reach the poor and marginalized people on empowering them to face their challenging needs for social accountability monitoring, Social security and eradication of poverty in areas they live through promotion of Policy analysis, Budget analysis and Government engagement. All of which are necessary for the community to promote accountability and Good Governance then reduce poverty for sustainable development where SFF works with poor and marginalised Community through participatory Rapid Appraisal ,PPM and self needs assessments methodologies
The organization was established early year 1999,then registered in September 02nd, 1999 of the same year in the ministry of home affairs under the Society ordinance of 1954 rules 5 with registration Number SO 10029 of dated 02nd September, 1999 and in June 15th,2005 was registered for the certificate of compliance in the vice presidents office.
SFF head office is allocated at Banduka Street next to industrial area at Plot No 347 block HH in Shinyanga Municipal.
SFF is the organizations full member of Policy Forum since the year 2004 to date where our participation is accepted and is the member of World Association of Non Government Organization (WANGO) since the year 2005 to date.
Vision, Mission and Main Objectives
Vision
SFF envisions a society of informed and committed to the realization of social justice, human capabilities, accountable and confident citizenry for collectively voice up to ensure transparent, responsive and accountable government on social service delivery through social Accountability system so as to reduce poverty, bring accountability and bring sustainable development to local community by 2025.
Mission
SFF shall mobilise, Advocacy, Publication and information dissemination, provide training and coordinate local communities of men, women and the marginalised/Vulnerable groups for equal opportunities; Collective voice, promoting social accountability system to people within the community for accountability, poverty reduction and sustainable development at Village Level.
SFF’s overall Objective
SFF shall be committed to undertake training, advocacy, Policy analysis, Budget analysis, Government engagement and media engagement for enlightening the Village people with training knowledge on Social accountability Monitoring (SAM) that will give the community voice for the Government to account Shinyanga region.
Apparently SFF strives to emphasise recognition that citizens, individually or as organized groups, must interact with the Social accountability system so as to strengthen mechanisms for accountability, and participation in order to enhance and influence development outcomes of SAM.
The target Groups
The target beneficiaries are Women, Men, Marginalized groups and Public service providers.
Challenges
SFF have the challenges for the availability of grants in time of strategic plan to implement planned activities. Second, is for attractive salary that can attract for employment of skilled and competent staff with knowledge of preparing competitive proposal for the organization to search funding for SAM Project
The Decision making process
The organization decision makers is the Annually General Meeting (AGM) lead by Chairperson that have to meet every year and in case of emergency may met at any time which is the final decision makers to all issues concerning organization affairs and is comprising of all members Organization, all organization staff and volunteers ( for staff and volunteers has no rights to speak in the meeting ).
The second stage is Executive committee that comprising ten committee members lead by Chairperson; among other members are treasurer, Secretary General (employee who work as the board secretary) during all board meetings The Executive committee is the day to day management of the organization and its affairs who supervise staff and Volunteers for their daily activities, organization affairs, preparing minutes to send to AGM and implementing decisions made by AGM after AGM meeting.
The Staff and Volunteer working under organization code of conduct, NGO, Policy Forum and the Foundation code of ethics, rules and Policy analysis of the organization and report to the Secretary General who can send to the executive committee.
Ordinary members these are members of the organization with full mandate of organization’s affairs, Have a voice to request/Peruse and free of communication to the secretary General or executive committee and free to attend executive committee meeting without to speak in the meeting room.

The Committee membership
The Annually General Meeting is the final decision meeting that approve for implementation of the rules, laws, Financial procedures, policies and electing the Executive Committee member through voting system and only Live members are allowed to vote, except Staff and volunteers who can observe the meeting.
To become the Executive committee member, you must fill the special form of application that has questionnaires before deadline announced. The names contesting are to be sorted with the meeting that comprising of Executive committee member, invited Government officials and board member from other partnership organizations to choose the best to contest for committee membership and the names selected to be sent for AGM voting.

SFF Organization recruiting the staff/Volunteers according to the project requirements and if project ended remained with only department leaders of the organization so as to work on daily bases while search funds.
Achievement
SFF since was launched in year 1999 have conducted several activities as follows:-
I) Baseline survey for existing culture related to killing of women with believes to witch Craft in Bariadi district funded by white ribbon alliance from USA for US Dollars 20,000.00 in year 2000
II) Youth groups trained to sensitize on HIV/AIDS Prevention to pastoralists communities in the region funded by CARE International for TSH 41,280,000/= for the year 2004
III) Training youth on Civic education of the age between 18-29 years on rights to vote for National General election of Otober2005, was funded by UNDP-Tanzania for Tshs 56,553,000/= in year 2005.
IV) HIV/AIDS Prevention to Pastoralist families funded by Forum SYD Sweden for Tshs 61,510,000/= in year 2006
V) Popularization of health policy to village government, health service providers traditional leaders and healers which was funded by The Foundation for Civil Society for Tshs 4,450,573/= ended in March 2007.
VI) Training of youth on income generation for Brick making project that reduce poverty to poor families of Tshs 4,570,800/= in year 2008 funded by Ambassador’s Special self Help Fund of American embassy.
