Steering Committee

Policy Forum has a Steering Committee that reflects the diversity of its members. Steering Committee members are drawn from the PF membership. PF's Steering Committee meets quarterly to review and provide guidance to PF's Secretariat. Members of PF's Steering Committee are as follows:

    Hebron Mwakagenda is the Steering Committee Chairman representing the Leadership Forum, an organisation that aims to identify, recruite,train, and release young people in exploring and utilising their potential opportunities of humankind and play their leadership role in the society.

    Maimuna Kanyamala represents Kivulini Women's Rights Organisation which is based in Mwanza, Tanzania. In Kiswahili, Kivulini means “in the shade.” The word implies a place under the tree where people discuss and support each other. Kivulini is committed to empowering women by working with the community to create an environment of safety, equality and respect. It also mobilises men by raising awareness, facilitating dialogue and advocating for change.

    Theofrida Kapinga represents TACOSODE which is a leading NGO aiming at improving capacities of NGOs and CBOs through training facilitating, networking, policy analysis and lobbying and advocacy.

    Rose Mushi represents Actionaid which facilitates the process of Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) monitoring in all its program areas (education, HIV/AIDS, gender, agriculture, and food security) through local partners. The PRS monitoring includes independent and multi-stakeholder monitoring of government performance, including tracking flow of funds, corruption, and service delivery.

    Andrew Williams is the coordinator of the Tanzania Natural Resources Forum (TNRF) based in Arusha. TNRF is a collective civil society-based initiative to improve natural resource management in Tanzania by addressing fundamental issues of natural resource governance. This network works closely with Policy Forum to influence policy processes.
